Charles Philibert-Thiboutot

Biography

Charles Philibert-Thiboutot has recently established himself as one of Canada’s top middle distance runners. In 2012 he finished second in the 1500m at both the CIS Championships and the NACAC U23 meet. In 2014 he was crowned CIS Champion in the 1500m and finished second at the senior Canadian Championships. He also competed at the 2014 World University Cross-Country Championships. In 2015 he again finished second in the 1500m at the Canadian championships. Soon thereafter he ran his personal best time in the distance, 3:34.23, just one week before capturing bronze at the Pan Am Games in Toronto. He made his IAAF World Championship debut later in the summer, running the 10th-fastest time in the semifinals but unable to advance to the final. Philibert-Thiboutot made his Olympic debut at Rio 2016 where he advanced to the 1500m semifinals.
