With the maple leaf as the defining motif, Hudson’s Bay unveiled its Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic collection for Team Canada on Tuesday.
When Olympians march out at Maracana Stadium on August 5, they’ll be sporting a look that is distinctly Canadian. According to Hudson’s Bay, the look “unifies graphic and heritage elements” and the design unites the worlds of sport and fashion.
The collection was revealed online to Team Canada fans using Facebook Live (scroll to the bottom of the story for full unveil video) on Tuesday evening, hosted by television personality Jessi Cruickshank, who was joined by two-time Olympic silver medal-winning diver Alex Despatie. They helped present 15 Rio 2016 Olympic hopefuls who doubled as models for the collection.
Prior to the live unveiling on Tuesday, sprinter Khamica Bingham, field hockey player Matthew Sarmento, paddler Ben Russell and boxer Mandy Bujold all took part in the campaign photo shoot, the images from which will adorn Hudson’s Bay stores across Canada.

In Tuesday’s Facebook Live reveal, Rio 2016 Olympic hopefuls strutted their stuff, modeling the clothes in a fashion show, broadcast directly from Team Canada’s page.
As the unveil took place, Hudson’s Bay had the items placed on its online shop for fans to browse and purchase.
