Alors, comment cette Olympienne canadienne de 25 ans, au parcours remarquable dans le chaos ma\u00eetris\u00e9 du patinage de vitesse sur courte piste, en est-elle arriv\u00e9e l\u00e0 ?\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Revenons quelques ann\u00e9es en arri\u00e8re. Sarault a fait ses d\u00e9buts en Coupe du monde ISU durant la saison 2018\u20112019, avant de participer la m\u00eame ann\u00e9e aux Championnats du monde ISU, o\u00f9 elle a remport\u00e9 une m\u00e9daille de bronze avec le relais f\u00e9minin de 3000 m. Elle poursuivi sur cette lanc\u00e9e lors des championnats du monde suivants. En 2021, elle a d\u00e9croch\u00e9 l\u2019argent au classement g\u00e9n\u00e9ral et au 1500 m, ainsi que le bronze au 1000 m. En 2022, elle a obtenu l\u2019argent au relais 3000\u202fm. Puis, en 2023, elle a remport\u00e9 deux autres bronzes, au 1000 m et au relais 3000 m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sarault a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9e pour la premi\u00e8re fois sur l\u2019\u00e9quipe olympique pour Beijing 2022. Elle y a pris part au relais canadien du 3000 m, qui a manqu\u00e9 le podium de justesse avec une quatri\u00e8me place. Elle a \u00e9galement particip\u00e9 au relais mixte 2000 m (sixi\u00e8me) et s\u2019est class\u00e9e 11e en individuel, tant au 1000 m qu\u2019au 1500 m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Clairement, Sarault poss\u00e8de un immense talent. Mais, \u00e0 l\u2019automne 2023, tout a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 \u00eatre diff\u00e9rent. Le patinage devenait plus difficile, et plus elle se for\u00e7ait, plus elle se sentait mal. Les performances dont elle savait \u00eatre capable et qu\u2019elle avait d\u00e9j\u00e0 livr\u00e9es par le pass\u00e9 ne se concr\u00e9tisent tout simplement pas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00ab J\u2019ai connu ma pire saison. Je suis tomb\u00e9e malade physiquement, et \u00e7a m\u2019a aussi rendue malade mentalement \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Sarault.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Plus n\u2019est pas toujours synonyme de mieux<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En janvier 2024, elle a confi\u00e9 sur Instagram que quelque chose n\u2019allait pas et qu\u2019elle prenait du temps pour comprendre ce qui se passait. Cela signifie que poursuivre l\u2019entra\u00eenement, au lieu d\u2019am\u00e9liorer la performance, l\u2019enfonce davantage. Les sympt\u00f4mes varient, mais incluent souvent fatigue persistante, baisse de performance, vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 accrue aux maladies, troubles du sommeil, fr\u00e9quence cardiaque \u00e9lev\u00e9e au repos, troubles de la concentration, d\u00e9pression, et plus encore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00ab Ma variabilit\u00e9 de la fr\u00e9quence cardiaque montrait que m\u00eame au repos, je ne me reposais pas vraiment. Mon c\u0153ur battait comme si je m\u2019entra\u00eenais \u00bb, a confi\u00e9 Sarault.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Malgr\u00e9 les recommandations de repos et de r\u00e9duction de la charge d\u2019entra\u00eenement, elle peinait \u00e0 faire taire cette voix int\u00e9rieure lui criant qu\u2019elle devait simplement redoubler d\u2019efforts et pousser toujours plus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Puis est survenue la commotion \u2013 ce qu\u2019elle appelle la \u00ab cerise sur le sundae \u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En septembre, Sarault a annonc\u00e9 que sa convalescence de la commotion, qui lui avait fait manquer les Championnats canadiens de courte piste, l\u2019emp\u00eacherait \u00e9galement de participer aux deux premi\u00e8res \u00e9tapes du circuit mondial ISU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-instagram wp-block-embed-instagram\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-captioned data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DAEFjUyOWoM\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\" style=\" background:#FFF; Elle a r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 faire taire cette partie de son esprit qui exigeait toujours plus, et \u00e0 accepter que parfois, moins, c\u2019est vraiment mieux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En novembre, elle annon\u00e7ait son retour \u00e0 la comp\u00e9tition pour le mois suivant. En f\u00e9vrier, elle remportait l\u2019or au 1500 m lors d\u2019une \u00e9tape du circuit mondial \u00e0 Tilburg, aux Pays\u2011Bas. Aux Championnats du monde de 2025, elle glanait deux m\u00e9dailles d\u2019argent en individuel (1000 m et 1500 m) et l\u2019or au relais 3000 m avec Kim Boutin, Florence Brunelle et Rikki Doak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sarault est non seulement de retour physiquement, mais les \u00e9preuves des deux derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es l\u2019ont rendue mentalement plus forte que jamais.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00ab J\u2019ai fait, en gros, deux ann\u00e9es d\u2019exposition \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chec constant, ce qui \u00e9tait ma peur \u00bb, a-t-elle partag\u00e9. \u00ab J\u2019en ris maintenant, mais \u00e7a vous rend tellement plus fort. Mon petit dicton, c\u2019est que plus on traverse, plus on grandit \u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Elle souhaite que son exp\u00e9rience serve \u00e0 la fois de mise en garde pour les athl\u00e8tes pris dans le pi\u00e8ge du \u00ab\u202ftoujours plus\u202f\u00bb et d\u2019exemple d\u2019espoir pour ceux confront\u00e9s \u00e0 une blessure, surtout les blessures diffuses ou difficiles \u00e0 cerner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00ab Peu importe \u00e0 quel point on se sent abattu ou combien les moments sont difficiles, on peut et on va s\u2019en sortir \u2014 que ce soit dans deux jours ou dans un an. Et quand on en sort, on sera cinquante fois plus fort. \u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Pr\u00e9parez-vous !<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">C\u2019est l&rsquo;\u00e9tat d\u2019esprit de Sarault aujourd\u2019hui \u2014 une \u00ab\u202fCourtney 2.0\u202f\u00bb, surtout au niveau mental.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00ab J\u2019ai construit une toute autre version de moi que je ne connaissais m\u00eame pas \u00bb, confie-t-elle.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00ab Je pensais d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00eatre mentalement forte, mais maintenant, je suis au sommet. Je peux tout faire. Je n\u2019ai plus peur. \u00c7a m\u2019est \u00e9gal d\u2019\u00e9chouer. \u00c7a m\u2019est \u00e9gal de me tromper. \u00c7a fait deux ans que je le fais, maintenant rien ne peut m\u2019atteindre. \u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Une Sarault intr\u00e9pide sera une force redoutable \u00e0 l\u2019aube d\u2019une ann\u00e9e olympique. Son chemin vers Milan-Cortina 2026 d\u00e9bute le 23 ao\u00fbt, avec les Championnats canadiens de courte piste 2025 qui se d\u00e9roulent \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ces championnats nationaux, qui se concluent le week-end suivant, serviront \u00e0 d\u00e9terminer les athl\u00e8tes canadiens qui participeront au circuit mondial ISU cet automne.
