Canada Olympic House had a very special surprise visitor this morning, Russian President Valdimir Putin, who posed for photos with Canadian Olympic athletes and executives. On this Valentine’s Day 7, Canadians felt love for Olympic Athletes such as Patrick Chan, Jeff Carter, Brad Jacobs, and Roberto Luongo.
Patrick Chan took home Silver in Men’s Figure Skating. Men’s Curling Team Brad Jacobs returned to their winning ways against Norway 10-4. Men’s Hockey Team blasted Team Austria 6-0 including Jeff Carter netting a hat trick with 3 consecutive goals in the 2nd period. The last Canadian to score a natural hat trick in the Olympics was Paul Knox in 1956, also against Austria, where Canada won 23-0. Furthermore, Drew Doughty, Shea Weber, and Ryan Getzlaf netted one goal each. Roberto Luongo was in net to earn the shutout for Canada!
