Facts & figures: Women’s rugby stars set to shine at Canada Sevens
Canada’s Women’s Sevens Head Coach John Tait has made just two changes in his roster for Canada Sevens, taking place at Westhills Stadium in Langford, BC April 16-17.

The Canada Sevens line-up includes the return of Britt Benn, who missed last week’s Atlanta Sevens recovering from injury. Julia Greenshields also returns to the squad after last playing with them on the Dubai stop. Canada will kick off day one in Pool C with England, Ireland, and Japan.
In anticipation for Canada Sevens, here are some impressive facts and figures that the women’s team has achieved so far…

Coming off a fourth place finish in Atlanta, Canada currently sits third in this season’s standings.
Canada is the third highest scoring country of all time in the World Rugby Women’s Sevens series having scored a total of 2,231 points.

With 500 points, Ghislaine Landry became the second highest scoring woman in World Rugby Sevens history during competition in Atlanta.

Landry holds the Canadian women’s record for most points scored in a single game, scoring 23 points in a 47-0 win over South Africa in Langford last year. That’s two better than Mandy Marchak’s 21, followed by Magali Harvey with 20.

Canadian Karen Paquin and Sarah Goss of New Zealand (tied) have appeared in more World Rugby Sevens Series events than any others athletes, playing in 18 events.
