Pendrel wins, Batty third at final mountain bike world cup before Rio 2016
With just under two weeks until the women’s mountain bike competition at Rio 2016, Catharine Pendrel and Emily Batty found the world Cup podium in Mont-Sainte-Anne, Quebec on Sunday.
Two time-world champion Pendrel quickly assumed the leader position and despite periods of heavy rainfall finished with a commanding lead on home soil. World bronze medallist Batty‘s move came in the second half, when she passed the reigning world champion Annika Langvard to finish third. Second place went to Norway’s Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesja.
It was a 1-2 finish for mountain bikers Catharine Pendrel and Emily Batty at Glasgow.

On August 20th, both Pendrel and Batty will head to the Mountain Bike Centre start line, looking for their first podium finish at an Olympic Games. With several world cup and world championship medals between them, the Canadians will be strong contenders at Rio 2016.
