Team Canada finishes with five medals at Rowing World Cup
Carling Zeeman, Conlin McCabe and Kai Langerfeld, and the men’s eight crew are bringing home bronze medals after a great showing during the final day of the Rowing World Cup in Poznan, Poland.
The three crews bring home the bronze medals after Jill Moffatt took home gold in the lightweight women’s single sculls event, and Jeremy Hall earned a silver medal in the PR2 men’s single sculls event on Saturday. The three medals captured on Sunday gives Canada a medal count of five for the weekend.

Carling Zeeman pushed through the Women’s Single Sculls to earn a bronze medal with a time of 08:05.110 seconds. New Zealand’s Emma Twigg took the lead at 08:04.450s, and Magdalena Lobnig of Austria was just ahead of Zeeman at 08:04.570s. Zeeman’s last medal was also a bronze at the 2018 World Cup Lucerne III.
Conlin McCabe and Kai Langerfeld raced to a bronze medal in the men’s pair final. Their time of 06:43.340s put them behind Australia (06.38.230s) and New Zealand (06:39.490s).
The men’s eight crew of Mackenzie Copp, Taylor Perry, Gavin Stone, Benjamin De Wit, Martin Barakso, Cody Bailey, Jakub Buzek, William Crothers, and Lesley Thompson-Willie also stepped atop the podium to claim their bronze medal. The crew’s time was 05:48.440s. Germany lead the pack at 05:45.830s and Great Britain secured the silver medal (05:47:740s).
After a successful Olympic history in the men’s eight events, the crew is hopeful in rowing to success and reaching a spot in Tokyo 2020.
