David De Vlieger

Director

David is presently Senior Litigation Counsel at Repsol Oil & Gas Canada Inc. where he oversees Repsol’s North American litigation portfolio, while also providing subject-matter expertise for litigation and claims impacting Repsol’s international operations, which span five continents.   Prior to commencing his inhouse practice, David was a partner with Calgary litigation boutique Code Hunter LLP and appeared before courts in most Canadian jurisdictions, including the Supreme Court of Canada.

David is also active within the Canadian sports community, and is currently a director with the Canadian Olympic Committee, is Vice Chair of the Canadian Sport Institute – Calgary, and Secretary Treasurer of the Union Americana de Natacion, the continental body overseeing aquatic sports in the Americas.

David is also a prior Chair of the Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada, a statutory body charged with overseeing disputes within the Canadian sport system and which serves as Canada’s Anti-Doping tribunal in accordance with the World Anti-Doping Association regulations.  He was also previously a member of the Board of Directors of Swimming Canada for nine years, including five years as Chair.
