Saäd Rafi
Saäd Rafi worked in the Ontario Public Sector for over 24 years. He has extensive knowledge and experience in financial administration, change management and transformation, leadership of complex organizations, implementation in complex operational environments and risk management.
Mr. Rafi was also a Partner and the National Government and Public Services Leader at Deloitte LLP. Rafi also was the Chief Executive Officer of the Toronto 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games Organizing Committee. In this role, he was brought into reposition the brand of the Games and to align the shareholders to support the Games. He also obtained additional funding and led the delivery of the largest multi-sport event in Canadian history. Achieving an overall cost savings in excess of $100M. By several measures the Games were deemed a resounding success.
Rafi has held the positions of Deputy Minister of Health and Long-Term Care; Deputy Minister of Energy and Infrastructure; Deputy Minister of Transportation; and the Deputy Minister of Community Safety. Mr. Rafi is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto and a member of the Board of Governors for Trent University in Peterborough.
