The COC is committed to elevating the Sport System – ensuring it is better funded, coordinated, and more sustainable – while continuing to champion safe, inclusive, and barrier-free sport for all participants, so that we can be a Team Canada that reflects Canada.

These goals all work together. By advancing podium success, we can inspire participation and strengthen the high-performance pathway for the next generation of Canadian athletes.

Widening the Aperture

By widening the aperture of the high-performance pipeline — expanding participation, broadening access, and removing barriers — we strengthen Canada’s talent pool and ultimately Team Canada’s future podium success.

Likewise, this strategy allows us to leverage success on the podium to inspire and drive investment in participation, helping our member NSOs grow their participant base. In doing so, the COC will have finally connected our dual mandate to advance podium success and promote Olympism in Canada.

Our Virtuous Circle

The entire organization will feed the achievement of these Sport Impact outcomes – from our efforts on the “Funder” side of our business, which play an essential role to ensure we secure the necessary investments to fund the strategy, to our “Catalyst” activities which create the systems and foundation upon which our organization operates to drive holistic impact.

With this new clarity of focus across the COC we are well positioned to be a sustainable business and drive lasting change for the betterment of sport in Canada.
