Ashley Stephenson
Biography
The Pan American Games will be the highlight of Ashley Stephenson’s career, fitting for an athlete who watched the Olympics on TV as a kid and dreamed that one day, if she worked hard enough, she would have the opportunity to play for Canada. Stephenson is now one of the veterans of the national team, having appeared in every IBAF World Cup since its inception in 2004. She has won four medals in six tournaments, including a best-ever silver medal in 2008 when she was named tournament all-star at third base. Stephenson was honoured as national team MVP in 2005 and 2008. She currently plays in the Toronto Baseball Association. Stephenson played collegiate hockey for the Laurier Golden Hawks, winning OUA championships in 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2006 as well as the CIS Championship in 2005 when she was named national tournament MVP. She was a CIS first team all-star in 2006 and inducted to the Golden Hawks Hall of Fame in 2011.
