Erin Teschuk

Biography

Erin Teschuk won the 2015 Canadian title in the 3000m steeplechase after a breakthrough season for the North Dakota State University Bisons. As a junior, she became the first woman in the school’s history to qualify for the NCAA Championships in cross-country, indoor track, and outdoor track. She earned three first team All-America honours in 2015, the most ever by a Bison. After finishing in the top eight in the mile and the 3000m at the NCAA Indoor Championships, she ran a personal best 9:42.15 to finish fifth in the 3000m steeplechase at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon. Teschuk followed her 2015 collegiate season with a fourth place finish in the steeplechase at the Pan Am Games in Toronto before making her IAAF World Championship debut where she ran a personal best 9:40.07. In 2016 Teschuk finished eighth in the 3000m steeplechase at the NCAA Championships before successfully defending her Canadian title, going on to make her Olympic debut in Rio. Teschuk had been a silver medallist in the 2000m steeplechase at the 2013 Canada Games.
