Justin Peters

Biography

In his Olympic debut at PyeongChang 2018, goaltender Justin Peters helped Team Canada win the bronze medal. In the leadup to PyeongChang 2018, Peters played for Team Canada at the 2017 Sochi Hockey Open. He previously wore the maple leaf at the 2014 IIHF World Championship, where he served as Canada’s third goaltender and did not see any game action. Peters played most of his junior hockey with the OHL’s Toronto St. Michael’s Majors before joining the Plymouth Whalers for part of his final season in 2005-06. He was selected in the second round, 38^th overall, by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. He has played 83 NHL games for the Hurricanes (2009-2014), Washington Capitals (2014-15) and Arizona Coyotes (2016-17) while also spending time with their AHL affiliates. In 2017-18, Peters split his time between the Riga Dynamo of the KHL and the Cologne Sharks of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga.
