Katherine Plouffe

Biography

Katherine Plouffe made her international debut at the 2010 FIBA Americas U-18 Championship after spending 2008-09 as a member of the National Elite Development Academy. She then helped Canada to a fifth place finish at the 2011 FIBA U-19 World Championship, averaging 27.5 minutes, 8.0 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. Plouffe appeared in all seven games at the 2014 FIBA World Championship, shooting 53% from the field, averaging 7.4 points and 2.7 rebounds as Canada finished fifth for their best result since 1986. In 2015 Plouffe helped Canada win a pair of gold medals at the Pan American Games in Toronto and at the FIBA Americas Championship, which qualified the team for Rio 2016, where she appeared in all six games. Plouffe played four seasons at Marquette University, leaving as the school’s ninth all-time scorer (1551 points) and fourth-leading rebounder (973). In her senior year, she averaged a double-double (17.1 points and 10.2 rebounds) and was named Big East Scholar Athlete of the Year. Plouffe has played professionally in Romania and France.
