Biography

In his Olympic debut at PyeongChang 2018, goaltender Kevin Poulin helped Team Canada win the bronze medal. In the leadup to PyeongChang 2018, Poulin played for Team Canada at the Spengler Cup, Tournament of Nikolai Puchkov, and Sochi Hockey Open in 2017. He recorded a shutout in the final to help Canada win gold at the Spengler Cup. Poulin played his junior hockey with the QMJHL’s Victoriaville Tigres from 2006 to 2010. He was selected in the fifth round, 126th overall, by the New York Islanders in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. He played 55 NHL games for the Islanders from the 2010-11 season to 2014-15, while also spending time with their AHL affiliate, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. In 2016-17, he joined Astana Barys of the KHL before moving to KHL Medvescak Zagreb of the Austrian Hockey League in 2017-18.
