Michel Dion

Biography

Michel Dion has been competing in shooting since 1971. In that time, he has represented Canada at two Olympic Games, four Pan American Games, four Commonwealth Games, and three ISSF World Championships. Dion won a bronze medal in the 50m rifle prone event at the 1995 Pan Am Games in Mar Del Plata Argentina. He has also captured two individual and three pair medals at the Commonwealth Games. Two of those individual medals came at the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria where he was given the honour of being the Canadian Closing Ceremony flag bearer. Dion recorded a career-high world championship finish of 12th place in the 50m rifle prone in 1994. His career-high World Cup result is eighth place, achieved in the 50m rifle prone at the 1995 stop in Munich and equaled at the 1996 stop in Atlanta.
