Richard Clarke
Biography

Richard Clarke made his fifth Olympic appearance at the London Games and his first in Star class and finished in 12th place with partner Tyler Bjorn.
The longtime Olympic sailor competed in Finn class in Barcelona 1992, Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004.
Childhood friends, both of Clarke and Bjorn’s fathers sailed in the 1972 Games in Munich, Germany.
Clarke was the Canadian Yachting Association Male Athlete of the Year in 1993, and won the coveted Sailor of the Year Award in 1999. He also won the Gerry Roufs Trophy in 2002 for achievement in international Offshore Racing. He was recognized as the British Columbia Sailor of the Year in 2010.
