Biography

Sarah Vaillancourt made her Olympic debut at Turin 2006 where she and Team Canada took home gold as Vaillancourt contributed six points (two goals, four assists) over five games. Vaillancourt returned to the Olympic Games at Vancouver 2010 where Canada successfully defended their gold medal and Vaillancourt totaled eight points (three goals, five assists) over five games.

A member of the women’s national program from 2003 to 2013, Vaillancourt appeared in six IIHF World Championships with Team Canada, winning gold in 2007 to go with five silver medals (2005, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2013). Over her six world championship appearances, Vaillancourt played in 30 games and recorded 37 points.

Vaillancourt played collegiate hockey for Harvard University from 2004 to 2009 where she served as captain in her senior year. Vaillancourt appeared in 122 games for Harvard and recorded 242 points. Vaillancourt went on to play for the Montreal Stars of the CWHL from 2010 to 2014, winning back-to-back league championships in 2011 and 2012.

Vaillancourt was inducted to the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame in 2012 with her teammates from the Turin 2006 Olympic hockey team.
