Another 24 shooters will target the Pan Am podium this summer after the Shooting Federation of Canada nominated its Toronto 2015 team on Wednesday.

Just over a week after Archery Canada named its competitors for the Games, it was the Shooting Federation’s turn, nominating a squad that includes five Olympians in Sharon Bowes, Michel Dion, Susan Nattrass, Cory Niefer and Paul Shaw.

Canada won two Pan Am medals four years ago in Guadalajara, where the United States led the way winning 10 of 15 competitions, taking a total of 18 medals. Canada will have a chance to upset the Americans on home soil at the Pan Am Shooting Centre in Innisfil, roughly 89 kilometres north of Toronto, from July 12 to 19.

The events – 15 of them – are broken down by pistol, rifle and shotgun. Canada will compete in every event except women’s skeet, which falls under the shotgun category.
