Biography

Kevin Martin was the skip of the Canadian men’s curling team that won gold at Vancouver 2010, Martin’s third Olympic appearance. He had skipped his rink to silver at Salt Lake City 2002. He also finished fourth at Albertville 1992 when curling was still a demonstration sport.

Martin and his team of John Morris, Marc Kennedy, Ben Hebert and Adam Enright went unbeaten to win the gold medal in Vancouver, closing with a 6-3 win over Norway in the final.  It was redemption of sorts for Martin, who had competed with a different team in Salt Lake City.  At those Games, he had lost the gold medal to Norway.  Martin had been attempting a draw with his last stone that would have secured the win, but it was too heavy and gave Norway the victory instead.
