Paint the Town Red with Lights this Holiday Season
Show support for the Canadian Olympic Team by Decking the Halls in Red!
The Canadian Olympic Committee is encouraging Canadians from coast to coast to coast to ‘Paint the Town Red’ this holiday season by choosing to hang red LED lights outside their homes this year, and to turn them on again in February to demonstrate support for the Canadian Olympic Team at the 2010 Winter Games.
The Canadian Olympic Committee’s Paint the Town Red campaign is designed to encourage all Canadians to show our athletes that we support their efforts and preparations for the Vancouver 2010 Games. Launched in September, the Paint the Town Red campaign is a fun, easy and inexpensive way for all Canadians to get involved and be a part of the Games.
“Painting the Town Red is a fun concept that every Canadian can take part in. We are simply showing support for our athletes and patriotism for our country by uniting together and showing off our RED! Keeping your red lights up after the holidays and turning them back on in February 2010, is a great way to light up Canada, show your support for our athletes, and Paint your Town Red!” says Heather Moyse, a dual national sport athlete in bobsleigh and rugby and 2010 hopeful from Summerside, PEI.
Zellers and RONA stores across Canada are well stocked with red LED lights in anticipation of the expected demand for these products.
