Venue Guide: Centennial Park Pan Am BMX Centre
Venue Guide is a series looking at the competition grounds for the Toronto 2015 Pan American Games.
There’s a new type of track next to the go-karts at Etobicoke’s Centennial Park, and it’s for two-wheels only.
It’s crazy how fast and easily elite BMX riders spin down the eight-metre start ramp at Centennial Park. Seriously, it’s really steep. But the speed is necessary to whip around the 350-metre course, and over the various jumps. It looks like a lot of fun, if you can suck it up and pedal out the fear. After TO2015, the BMX park will remain open for elite and beginner riders.
