Canadian Roundup: From World Series medals to a LPGA top-ten finish

Over the weekend Canadian divers ended their 2016 World Series season, while cyclists geared up for their first mountain bike World Cup.

Brooke Henderson also continued her LPGA top-ten streak.

Canadian divers capped off the 2016 World Series season with a total of 17 medals, after two podium finishes in Kazan, Russia. Meaghan Benfeito and Roseline Filion won silver in the women’s 10m synchro event, while Jennifer Abel and Francois Imbeau-Dulac claimed bronze in mixed 3m springboard.

Catharine Pendrel led Canada at the first UCI Mountain Bike World Cup competition of the season in Carins, Australia. Pendrel just missed the podium finishing fourth overall, Emily Batty was the next Canadian placing seventh in the same event. On the men’s side Raphaël Gagné registered a career high,  placing 12th.

Brooke Henderson increased her LPGA top-ten streak to eight at an event in San Francisco California. The Canadian closed with a 76, to tie for sixth in the competition with a total of 287.
