Rio 2016 Day 8: Results and fan reactions

Athletics – Bronze for Brianne Theisen-Eaton
Brianne Theisen-Eaton has won bronze in the Heptathlon.
Track cycling – Bronze for team pursuit
The pursuit team has won bronze.
Ryan Cochrane won 6th in the 1500m race.
Jason Burnett did not progress into the finals.
Indoor Volleyball – CAN vs Mexico
Canada beat Mexico in straight sets 3-0.
BeachVolleyball – CAN vs Netherlands
Saxton/Schalk have been eliminated.
Mohammed Ahmed is competing right now.
Andre DeGrasse ran 10.04 and won his heat, qualifying to the next round of 100m races. Akeem Haynes and Aaron Brown did not advance.
With two teams advancing to the round of 16, Canada’s Pavan/Bansley found themselves up against Canada’s Valjas/Broder. Pavan/Bansley won and will be moving to the quarterfinals.
Canada has qualified for the bronze medal match against New Zealand.
Genevieve Lalonde broke a Canadian record and will be in the final for 3000m steeplechase.
Women’s eight has placed 5th overall in the finals.
