Canadian Juniors earn double podium at UCI MTB World Cup
Canadian Juniors Patrick Laffey and Seth Sherlock took over the downhill track to claim the silver and bronze medal, respectively, at the UCI MTB World Cup in Les Gets, France on Saturday.
It was a race to the finish as Canadian teammates fought to cross the finish line at the multi-round mountain bike World Cup racing series.
Team Canada’s Patrick Laffey completed the race with a time of 3:06.276 and 40 points to bring home the silver medal. Right behind him was teammate, Seth Sherlock. Sherlock earned bronze with a time of 3:06.420 and 30 points.
Thibaut Daprela of France finished with a time of 3:04.615s and 60 points to secure gold.
Canada’s Lucas Cruz finished in fifth at 3:08.254 and 20 points. Elliot Jamieson also completed the race in 19th place.
The event will continue until Sunday and is one of ten World Cup stops. The upcoming schedule includes:
- Val Di Sole – Trentino from August 2-4, 2019.
- Lenzerheide – Switerzerland from August 9-11, 2019.
- Snowshoe – USA from September 6-8, 2019.
