Amanda Reason qualified for her first Olympic Games in 2012 and finished just off the podium in fourth place in the 4x200m freestyle relay with teammates Barbara Jardin, Samantha Cheverton and Brittany MacLean.

During the 2009 World Championships Trials in Montreal, Reason had a world-record setting day claiming the 50m breaststroke with a time of 30.23 seconds.

At the 2009 World Championships in Rome, Reason would compete in the 50m breaststroke and finish seventh. She also placed 22nd in the 100m breaststroke.
