Barbara Jardin

Biography

Barbara Jardin had two top-10 finishes in her Olympic Games debut in 2012. Competing in the 200m freestyle event, Jardin finished in 10th place. She also finished just off the podium in fourth place in the 4x200m freestyle with teammates Amanda Reason, Samantha Cheverton and Brittany MacLean.

During the 2011 season, Jardin swam in both the 200m and 400m freestyle during the World Championships in Shanghai. That was following a busy 2010 season that saw her compete at the Pan Pacific Championships, the Commonwealth Games and the World Swimming Championships. She had top-8 finishes in the 200m freestyle at the Pan Pacific Championships and at the Commonwealth Games.

Jardin had a great junior career and currently holds the short course provincial record in the girls 13-14 year old 400m IM with a time of 4:52.77. She also holds provincial records in the girls 15-17 year-old short course 400m free, short course 200m butterfly, and long course 400m medley.
