Biography

A two-time Olympian, Candace Chapman took the centre back position with the bronze-medal winning Canadian squad at the London 2012 Games.

In 2008, the Ajax, ON resident scored the first point in the first event at the Beijing Games, with her goal against Argentina in the 27th minute. She debuted for Canada in 2002 and has gone to compete in two FIFA World Cups in 2007 and 2011, and won a silver medal at the 2002 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Edmonton.

Chapman, a two-time Pan American Games medallist, played at the University of Notre Dame, majoring in Sociology and Computer Applications. A native of Trinidad and Tobago, she last played professionally with the Western New York Flash.
