Biography

In his Olympic debut at PyeongChang 2018, forward Christian Thomas helped Team Canada win the bronze medal. In the leadup to PyeongChang 2018, Thomas played for Team Canada at the Spengler Cup and Karjala Cup in 2017. He previously wore the maple leaf at the 2010 IIHF World U18 Championship. Thomas played his junior hockey with the OHL’s Oshawa Generals from 2008 to 2012. He was selected in the second round, 40th overall, by the New York Rangers in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He played just one NHL game with the Rangers. He would accumulate 26 more NHL games with the Montreal Canadiens (2013-16) and Arizona Coyotes (2015-16) while spending most of his time in the AHL. In 2017-18 he was playing with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
