Biography

In his Olympic debut at PyeongChang 2018, defenceman Cody Goloubef helped Team Canada win the bronze medal. In the leadup to PyeongChang 2018, Goloubef played for Team Canada at the 2017 Spengler Cup. He previously played for Team Canada at the 2009 World Junior Championship, winning the gold medal. He has played 129 NHL games for the Columbus Blue Jackets (2011-16) and Colorado Avalanche (2016-17). During those seasons, he also spent time in the AHL with the Springfield Falcons, Cleveland Monsters and San Antonio Rampage. In 2017-18 he played 34 games with the AHL’s Stockton Heat, having signed a one-way contract which made him ineligible for the NHL but eligible to compete at PyeongChang 2018. Goloubef played for the University of Wisconsin Badgers from 2007 to 2010. He was selected in the second round, 37th overall, by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
