Biography
Dan Boyle made his Olympic debut at Vancouver 2010 where he helped Team Canada capture the gold medal on home ice. Boyle totaled six points (one goal, five assists) over seven games en route to the gold. Boyle had been an alternate for Team Canada at Turin 2006.
Boyle’s first time wearing the Team Canada jersey was at the 2005 IIHF World Championship where he helped Canada win the silver medal by contributing three assists in the tournament.
Boyle began his NHL career with the Florida Panthers where he signed as an undrafted free agent after playing four years for the University of Miami (Ohio). Boyle would go on to play 17 seasons in the NHL with four different teams, winning the Stanley Cup in 2004 with the Tampa Bay Lightning. Boyle officially retired in 2016 and finished his career with 605 points in 1093 games.
Boyle was inducted to the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame in 2012 with his teammates from the 2010 Olympic hockey team.
