Graeme Rinholm

Biography

Graeme Rinholm had always dreamed of competing in the 100m final at the Olympic Games, but during his university track career he realized that dream would probably never come true. Instead, he decided to switch his focus to bobsleigh which would also utilize his love of sprinting.

Rinholm began by competing on the North American Cup circuit in 2010-11, but also made his world championship debut that season as a member of Chris Spring’s four-man crew. Rinholm moved onto the World Cup squad in 2011-12, but had his season come to an early end when he was involved in a horrific crash in Altenberg, Germany in January 2012. The sled piloted by Spring crashed into the track roof during training. Rinholm was knocked out and suffered a broken fibula as well as lacerations to his upper legs and buttocks.

Rinholm rejoined the national team in 2012-13, which included a trip to the world championships as a member of Justin Kripps’ four-man sled.
