Getting into the Sport: Began competing in track during his grade 11 year of high school… Drawn to running because of the independence it offered. ‘Running has provided great community to me since I began in the sport, but there has always been that same element of personal accountability that I find very rewarding. On the starting line, you have no one but yourself to rely on for the result you aspire to’… Has wanted to represent Canada ever since spending the summer of 2016 training with Canadian Olympic steeplechaser Chris Winter, ‘Up until that point it seemed so distant, but getting to know Chris and others who would later represent Canada that summer had a humanizing effect for me and I committed myself to doing everything in my power to make sure when the next Games came around, I’d be ready’… Outside Interests: Earned his Masters of Business management from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia in 2019… Works as the manager for the Vancouver Thunderbirds Track and Field Club… Is a long time supporter of Power to Change Ministries, specifically Athletes in Action, a Christian faith-based ministry that seeks to empower athletes in their sporting lives through supporting their spiritual journeys.
