Justin Duff

Biography

Jason Duff has enjoyed great success since graduating from the University of Winnipeg where he was a First Team All-Canadian and Male Athlete of the Year in 2010. That same year, he was a member of the Canadian team that competed at the FIVB World Championships. He returned to the global quadrennial event in 2014, helping Canada to a best ever seventh place finish. It was also in 2014 that Duff helped Canada to a fifth place finish in the FIVB World League. In 2015 Duff helped Canada win gold at the NORCECA Championships and finish seventh at the FIVB World Cup. He was also on the squad that won the FIVB World League Group 2 in 2016, earning the team a spot in the elite Group 1 in 2017. Professionally, Duff joined Arkas Izmir in Turkey in 2013, reaching that year’s Final Four of the CEV Champions League. The following year, Duff signed with Belogorie Belgorod and went on to win a Russian Volleyball Super League Championship with the club.

Family: Mother Janet Duff… Brothers Brayden and Darnell… Getting into the Sport: Began playing volleyball at age 16… Had played other sports before finding one that made his height a strength… At 18 a teammate told him that if he kept improving he’d make the national team; that small comment made him believe it was a real possibility to compete for Canada… Outside Interests: Enjoys reading and learning new languages… Graduated from the University of Winnipeg in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics… Like to purchase one bigger object from each country he lives in so that he can feature them in his future dream home… Odds and Ends: Nicknames: The Duffman, Duffer, J-Duff… Favourite motto: It’s not what you like, it’s what you’re like as a person…
