Kip Kangogo
Biography
Kip Kangogo grew up in Kenya’s Rift Valley, which has produced some of the world’s best runners, including his role model, former marathon world record holder Paul Tergat. He met the 2015 Pan Am Games standard by running 2:17:12 to finish 10th at the 2014 Toronto Waterfront Marathon. Among Kangogo’s accomplishments are winning 2014 Alberta Athletics male road runner of the year and finishing second at the 2013 and 2014 Canadian 10k Championship. He set the Calgary Marathon record in 2014. A former Canadian champion in the 5000m and 10,000m, he won the Canadian Half Marathon title in 2015.
