Biography

In his Olympic debut at PyeongChang 2018, forward Maxim Lapierre helped Team Canada win the bronze medal. In the leadup to PyeongChang 2018, Lapierre played for Team Canada at the 2017 Spengler Cup. He has played 614 NHL games for the Montreal Canadiens (2005-11), Anaheim Ducks (2010-11), Vancouver Canucks (2010-13), St. Louis Blues (2013-15), and Pittsburgh Penguins (2014-15). He was part of the Canucks’ run to the Stanley Cup Final in 2011. In 2015-16 he played for both Modo Ornskoldsvik of the Swedish Hockey League and Lugano of the Swiss League. He continued to play with Lugano in 2016-17 and 2017-18. Lapierre played his junior hockey with the QMJHL’s Rocket from 2001 to 2005, first in Montreal and then Prince Edward Island. He was selected in the second round, 61st overall, by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
