Megan Timpf

Biography

Megan Timpf has been part of the Women’s National Team program since 2005 when she joined the Development Team. She joined the Senior Women’s National Team in 2007, winning a silver medal at the Pan Am Games. She competed at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, where Canada finished fourth, and won another silver medal at the 2011 Pan Am Games. Timpf was also a member of the 2009 and 2013 Pan Am Championship teams that won silver and played in the 2012 and 2014 ISF Women’s World Championships. Timpf began her collegiate career at Campbell University before transferring to California University of Pennsylvania for her two final years. At California, she batted .323 with 7 homeruns, 32 runs batted in, 41 runs and only struck out 14 times in 226 at-bats over two seasons. In 2006 she was named to the All-PSAC team as a shortstop. After completing her eligibility, Timpf spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, before moving to Barry University and most recently joining UNLV as an assistant in 2014.

Family: Parents Peter and Andrea Timpf… Older sister Amber… Getting into the Sport: Began playing because of her sister and father’s involvement in the game… Has wanted to wear the maple leaf since watching the Canadian National team play at the Canada Cup… Outside Interests: California University of Pennsylvania (graduated 2008, Elementary Education), Indiana University of Pennsylvania (graduated 2010, Masters in Sports Management)… Enjoys reading and spending time with friends and family… Assistant softball coach at UNLV… Odds and Ends: Has been a consultant and writer for Softball Canada’s Technical Manual…
