Natasha Watcham-Roy

Biography

Natasha Watcham-Roy grew up in Gatineau, Quebec where she began playing rugby in grade nine because her older brother played the sport. After high school, she attended the University of Ottawa where she would become captain of the Gee-Gees women’s rugby team. Before joining Canada’s centralization program, Watcham-Roy played club rugby at Hull Volant and provincially with Rugby Quebec. She has plenty of international sevens experience, having played for Canada three times at the FISU Women’s Sevens Championship, including with the 2014 gold medal-winning team. She made her debut with Canada’s Women’s Sevens team during the 2014-15 World Rugby Women’s Sevens World Series. Watcham-Roy also helped Canada win gold at the 2015 Pan Am Games in Toronto, scoring three tries in the tournament. She missed most of the 2015-16 WSWS with injury, returning to action for the final event of the season in France.
