Raquel Tjernagel
Biography
A high school senior in 2014-15, Raquel Tjernagel gained acclaim after running personal best times in the 100m, 200m, and 400m in April 2015. Her 400m time of 52.52 seconds was the fastest in the world in 2015 for an under-20 woman. According to her coach, her 400m time as well as her 200m time of 23.34 seconds were Canadian high school records. Tjernagel has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the University of Texas in the fall of 2015. She competed in the 200m at the 2013 IAAF World Youth Championships and the 2014 IAAF World Junior Championships.
