Selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the sixth round of the 1988 MLB Draft and made his major league debut on August 15, 1991 versus the New York Mets, becoming the first Cardinals pitcher to win his MLB debut since Joe Magrane on April 24, 1985
Became the first French Canadian to win a National League game since Claude Raymond did it on April 29, 1971
