Rudy Verhoeff

Biography

Rudy Verhoeff’s first major competition for Canada was at the 2009 FIVB World Junior Championship. He has since become a key member of the senior national team, helping the men to a best-ever seventh place finish at the 2014 FIVB World Championship. He was also part of Canada’s seventh place finish at the 2015 FIVB World Cup and helped Canada win bronze at the 2015 Pan Am Games in Toronto. Verhoeff was  vital to Canada’s top-six success in the FIVB World League in 2013 when he served a couple of aces at the end of an epic five-set victory over world number two Russia. He also played in the World League in 2014, 2015 and 2016. Verhoeff spent his collegiate career at Trinity Western University, winning back-to-back CIS national titles in 2010-11 and 2011-12. He was named CIS Championship MVP during the first title run and won the Dale Iwanoczko Award during the second as outstanding CIS student-athlete.
