Scott Pfeifer

Biography

Scott Pfeifer was a member of the “Ferbey Four” which dominated Canadian men’s curling in the early 2000s, winning four national titles in five years (2001-03, 2005) and reaching the Brier final in 2004. He became the first curler to earn all-star honours at five Briers. Playing second, Pfeifer had joined forces with skip Randy Ferbey in 1998-99. Lead Marcel Rocque and fourth David Nedohin completed the quartet which won world titles in 2002, 2003 and 2005 after finishing fourth in their world championship debut.

When that team broke up, Pfeifer took a break from competitive curling in 2010-11 and 2011-12 before returning to play with skip Jamie King. That team eventually dissolved and in 2016, Pfeifer was recruited by Kevin Koe to be his fifth at the Brier. When they won the national title, Pfeifer joined them at the world championships where he claimed his fourth career gold medal. Pfeifer continued in the role of alternate for Team Koe at the 2017 Brier, where they were the runners-up, and at the Roar of the Rings. Pfeifer went on to be the fifth for Team Koe at PyeongChang 2018 where they finished fourth after losing the bronze medal game to Switzerland.

Pfeifer had first represented Canada at the 1994 World Junior Championships where he was the second on the team that won gold. He returned to the world juniors in 1997, winning bronze as well as the award for sportsmanship.
