Tamara Tatham

Biography

After making her Team Canada debut at the 2005 Universiade, Tamara Tatham joined the senior national team in 2007, which included a trip to the Pan Am Games in Rio. In her third season with the senior squad in 2009, she led the team in rebounds (6.2 average) during the FIBA Americas Championship. Making her first FIBA World Championship appearance in 2010, Tatham averaged 16 minutes, 4.5 points and 3.5 rebounds. She improved on that total at the 2014 World Championships, averaging 23.7 minutes, 6.1 points and 4.0 rebounds per game, helping the Canadian women finish fifth for their best result since 1986. Tatham and her sister Alisha were both members of the Canadian team that qualified for London 2012 and advanced to the quarterfinals of the Olympic tournament where Tatham averaged 22.5 minutes, 5.8 points and 3.7 rebounds over six games. Tatham played collegiately at the University of Massachusetts from 2004 to 2007, finishing with 1188 points, 755 rebounds, and 221 assists. Tatham then turned pro, playing in Finland (2007-08), Germany (2008-13), Slovakia (2013-15) and Australia (2015-present). In 2015 she helped Canada win a historic gold medal at the Pan Am Games in Toronto, where the host nation defeated the United States in the final, playing 110 minutes (third-most on the team) and averaging 9 points per game. She added another gold at the 2015 FIBA Americas Championship, which qualified Canada for Rio 2016. In her second Olympic appearance, Tatham ranked second on the team in scoring with a total of 59 points (9.8 per game) and was third in total rebounds with 32.
