Trevor Morrice

Biography

Trevor Morrice ended a more than three year retirement to compete in his second Olympic Winter Games at Sochi 2014, the highlight of which was advancing to the final of the individual large hill event in which he finished 42nd.

Morrice entered the Vancouver 2010 Games knowing it would be his last competition. He had not been fully enjoying ski jumping in the two years prior, but ended his career with some of his best jumps since 2006 as one of three teenagers on the Canadian ski jumping team. He took six months away from the sport entirely before becoming a coach. It was while travelling with the national team as an assistant coach that he learned a lot technically and gained a new appreciation for his talent.

In November 2013, one month after announcing his comeback, Morrice took his first jumps on snow and returned to international competition in mid-December. On January 17, 2014 he finished 11th in a Continental Cup event in Sapporo, a new career-best result.
