In his Olympic debut at PyeongChang 2018, forward Eric O’Dell helped Team Canada win the bronze medal. In the leadup to PyeongChang 2018, O’Dell played for Team Canada at the Channel One Cup, Karjala Cup, and Sochi Hockey Open in 2017. He previously wore the maple leaf at the 2008 World U18 Championship, helping Canada win the gold medal. He played his junior hockey with the OHL’s Sudbury Wolves from 2007 to 2011 and was selected in the second round, 39th overall, by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. After being acquired by the Winnipeg Jets, he spent most of four seasons (2011-15) with their AHL affiliate, the St. John’s IceCaps. He did play 41 NHL games for the Jets from 2013 to 2015. After splitting the 2015-16 season between the AHL’s Binghamton Senators and Rochester Americans, he moved to the KHL in 2016-17, playing two seasons with Sochi HC.

Getting into the Sport: His brother played hockey, so he was put on skate at age five and loved it… Outside Interests: Enjoys playing golf, being at the beach, spending time with family, and working out… Odds and Ends: As a child, underwent surgery to fix a hole in his heart that had been undetected since birth…
