Jack Crawford
Biography
Jack Crawford made his World Cup debut as an 18-year-old on the most famous downhill course in the world in Kitzbuehel, Austria in January 2016. A month later, he had an impressive performance at the junior world championships, winning silver in the super-G and finishing fifth in the slalom, giant slalom and alpine combined. He finished the 2015-16 season ranked second in the overall Nor-Am Cup standings.
In 2016-17, he joined the national team and finished third in the overall Nor-Am Cup standings. He narrowly missed a return to the podium at the junior worlds, finishing fourth in the downhill and giant slalom. Crawford began to make more regular World Cup appearances in 2017-18, starting with the opening speed events in Lake Louise in November. In December 2017, he stood on Nor-Am Cup podiums twice, winning downhill silver in Lake Louise and slalom silver in Panorama. In his Olympic debut at PyeongChang 2018, Crawford was the top-ranked Canadian in the men’s alpine combined with his 20th place finish.
