Biography

Jonelle Filigno is a two-time Olympian and was a forward on the bronze-medal winning women’s team in London. Filigno recorded one goal during the tournament, the game winner of a 2-0 quarter-final match against Great Britain.

Filigno earned her first international appearance as a 17-year-old in January 2008, and floated between the senior and under-20 team, before being named to Beijing Olympic team.

At the 2010 CONCACAF Championships in Mexico, she scored four goals and three assists, and started the tournament as a bench player before earning a spot in the starting line-up, including the match that sealed Canada’s 2011 World Cup qualification.

Twice she has represented Canada in World Cup play – in 2011 at the Women’s World Cup in Germany and in 2008 at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

From Mississauga, Ontario, she is Canada’s two-time Under-20 Female Player of the Year.
