Keegan Soehn

Biography

kSoehnKeegan Soehn enters TORONTO 2015 as the defending Pan Am Games champion, having won gold at Guadalajara 2011 by more than three points. 2011 was a big year for Soehn, who had won his second senior national title and went on to make his world championship debut. He has represented Canada at the last three world championships. A regular competitor on the World Cup circuit, Soehn enjoyed a successful 2014 season in which he was the top Canadian man at the world championships, won silver at the Pan American Championships and finished fourth at the Pacific Rim Championships.

Family: Parents Ken and Karen Soehn… Older brother Kyle is also on the national trampoline team and an alternate for the Pan Am Games… Younger sister Kalena… Getting into the Sport: Started trampoline at age 3… Had his Olympic dreamed sparked by watching Donovan Bailey set the world record in the 100m at Atlanta 1996…Outside Interests: Taking open studies at Red Deer College with a planned move into kinesiology… Enjoys playing different sports such as basketball and tennis… Odds and Ends: Personal motto: “Pain is just weakness leaving the body”… Role model is Kobe Bryant because he always gives his all to try and win… Collects Coke cans and bottles from the different countries he visits…
