Jessica Gaudreault
Biography
Jessica Gaudreault’s junior international experience includes gold medals at the Junior Pan American Championships in 2008 and 2010 as well as back-to-back ninth place finishes at the 2011 and 2013 FINA World Junior Championships. In 2012 she helped Canada to a fifth place finish at the inaugural FINA World Youth Championships. As a senior competitor, Gaudreault was named Most Valuable Goaltender at the 2015 UANA Cup, confirming Canada’s qualification for the FINA World Championships. Gaudreault was part of the team that captured silver at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto. Playing collegiately for Indiana University, Gaudreault was named to the Collegiate Water Polo Association All-Conference First Team as a freshman and sophomore. After her first two seasons she had already moved into sixth place on the Hoosiers’ all-time saves list with 444 in 56 games. In 2017, she helped Canada win silver at the FINA World League Super Final and was named Most Valuable Goaltender of the tournament.

Getting into the Sport: Started playing water polo at age 13… Loved being in the water, so tried swimming but was “horrible” at it and it didn’t interest her so she switched to water polo and was hooked… Outside Interests: Graduated from Indiana University with a degree inHuman Biology with a minor in French… Enjoys reading, cooking, baking, watching TV series, volleyball, and running… Odds and Ends: Favourite quotes: “Find what you love, and let it kill you” and “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure”… Always buys a small souvenir from new countries she visits… Nickname: Jess…
